Embarc is currently seeking full-time candidates for the Project Manager and Project Architect positions.
JOB DESCRIPTION - Project Manager
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading several small teams, typically 2-5 people, through the overall design and documentation process. Responsibilities will include team management, consultant and client coordination, design schedule management, and reviewing progress on the overall project documentation. Responsibilities will extend into the construction administration phase.
Qualified candidates must be proficient in building envelope detailing, preferably in wood-framed multifamily construction, and have a strong understanding of building systems and local building codes. The applicant shall be highly motivated and possess strong communication and organizational skills, as the candidate will be forward-facing and will collaborate daily with our Boston-based team. Proficiency in Revit is not required, however is a strong plus. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and/ or Bluebeam and MS Office is required.
Qualified candidates for this position shall possess a B.Arch and/ or M.Arch with 8 – 12+ years of professional experience in the field of architecture after completion of school. Professional licensure is not required, however architectural registration or actively seeking registration is recommended.
JOB DESCRIPTION - Project Architect
The Project Architect will be engaged in the design of the project from its initial inception. Working alongside a Lead Designer, the candidate will prepare design presentations to clients and for City/Town approvals with the intent to remain on the project through all phases of documentation. Once the project is through its initial design and approvals stages and working alongside a Project Manager, the Project Architect will help to lead a small team through the documentation phases.
The applicant must be proficient in Revit and be knowledgeable with compiling a set of construction drawings within the software. A technical background in residential wood frame construction and local building and zoning codes & regulations is recommended. Working knowledge in Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, and SketchUp is a strong plus.
The applicant must also be highly motivated. Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work well in small teams, both within the office and remotely, is necessary.
