Architect

Job Summary:

The Architect will plan and design, and/or facilitate the execution of new building designs, and plan, design and/or facilitate the execution of building expansions or renovations according to clients’ needs, desires, and financial resources. To meet the criteria of this job description, the individual must be a licensed architect in the State of Colorado.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide oversight on projects.
• Oversee the work of other Shopworks staff on projects.
• Medium level of supervision – responsible to the clients and teammates.
• Assist clients in defining their priorities and vision by preparing preliminary sketches of options.
• Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions.
• Assist with the creation of construction documents.
• Modify new or existing plans as required.
• Update the architectural product library and ordering project samples.
• Assist in field verification, including field measurement & record documentation. 
• Maintain good rapport with associated partners, i.e. builders, product sales representatives, IT providers, and delivery personnel. 
• Keep and submit to management a weekly timesheet & an expense report. 
• Attend all staff meetings. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
• Ability to problem solve, work independently, and manage multiple projects at a time.
• Extremely proficient with computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD and Revit. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.  
• Excellent problem-solving, negotiation and consultation skills.
• Ability to translate client ideas into visual and/or tangible references such as drawings or models.

Education and Experience:

• Five years of relevant experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
